Addiction, The Review
Addiction, The came out in 1995 and was directed
by the ever-stumpy Abel Ferrara. We have used science (and possibly the box cover)
to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Philosophical Vampire Horror" genre.
During the time we had our polls open, 249 repulsive viewers just like
you weighed in on Addiction, The. 132 of 'em thought it was great!
117 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

Dave's Review
After sitting through this modern black-and-white vampire movie for what seemed like days, all it took was Jim's insightful remarks to make us both go completely insane with hysterical laughter. Maybe it's worth seeing this movie for that effect alone. But if you don't have a good b-movie buddy with you, it may not be worth the effort. Look, philosophy interests me as much as the next guy...actually quite a bit more so, but for goodness sake, let's have some more blood spilled and some more wild sex. Better yet, some wild, bloody sex. Hey, I forgot to mention, Christopher Walken is in this one, so that's a big plus.

Jim's Review
This is a very difficult movie to explain. Basically it is an artsy Black and White Modern day Vampire movie, in which a Philosophy student becomes a Vampire and then has some really long Monologues in-between some pretty cool Gore scenes. I sort of like the movie, but on the other hand, it was so boring it almost caused my heart to stop on numerous occasions. After seeing this movie I came to the conclusion that no one more refined than a construction worker should become a vampire, otherwise they are just boring, depressing, and moody. I cannot really recommend this movie or tell you to avoid it, but if you do watch it, just understand that you are not going to see your every day normal action packed horror movie.
