During the time we had our polls open, 317 stumpy viewers just like you weighed in on Mallrats. 191 of 'em thought it was great! 126 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

I guess you could say that Mall Rats is a mainstream version of the far superior Clerks. There are a heck of a lot of similarities. But the edginess of Clerks isn't there. In fact, if it weren't for the nicely-placed Star Wars references, this movie would be like so many other half-grade teenage relationship movies.

Jim's Review

This is basically just a general fun movie. Compared to most movies it is just junk food. It has a bunch of great Star Wars references, and some fun characters. It is not particularly great movie, but it is entertaining, and even funny at times. If all you are looking for is some frivolous entertainment, then this movie is perfect, if you want a little more substance to your movie then you are out of luck.
