They Came From Within (Shivers) Review

They Came From Within (Shivers) came out in 1975 and was directed by the ever-diseased David Cronenburg. We have used science (and possibly the box cover) to determine that this movie fits perfectly into the "Animated Horror" genre.

During the time we had our polls open, 277 vermin-infested viewers just like you weighed in on They Came From Within (Shivers). 163 of 'em thought it was great! 114 thought it was shit. Takes all kinds.

This is a Dave and Jim's B-Movie Review. This review was written some time between 1996 and 2001. Once you've sucked the marrow from this one, you can head back to the full list to pick another review for savoring. Do it again and again.

Dave's Review

I really didn't know quite what to expect when I first started watching this movie. I mean, how good could an American animation be? But I was pleased to find out that it was far and away cooler than I had hoped for. Due to the fact that it was produced in segments for cable TV broadcast, it does tend to drag things out so as to keep the plot fresh in the viewer's mind. But this actually lends more environment to the movie, making it all the more realistic. The dark, brooding atmosphere makes the perfect backdrop for a pending war between the angels and the hellspawn. The end of this movie really makes you want to see the rest of the story very badly.
